Early Years Programme for Pre-school children aged 2-3 years of age, conceived and launched in the year 2021-22, is the start of an exciting educational journey that helps learners aged 2 to 3 years, develop the knowledge,

Most adults have fond memories of kindergarten. We now know though that children actually need to begin their education before kindergarten. Those early years are the key.

Children are active in the learning process and preschool lays a solid foundation for future learning. Research indicates that for children to reach their full potential, they need stimulating and appropriate experiences in the earliest years, when their brain is optimally programmed to benefit from these experiences. These very young learners need stimulating, supportive interactions with their peers and teachers and the effective use of curricula. The Early Years Programme is a thoughtfully designed way to give 2-to-3 year olds exactly that.

A multitude of pre-schools have mushroomed all over Ahmedabad where children get to spend 2-3 hours to play and interact with other children. The Early Years Programme endeavors to support the transition from home to the Early Learning and Care setting .

Where playing
becomes exciting

Young learners are intelligent, resourceful and creative individuals who grow, develop and learn at different rates. They explore their environment and learn about their world through play and relationships with peers, teachers, family and community members.

Unfortunately, today's children are deprived of open spaces, connection with nature and the world around them.

The Early Years Programme offers a holistic approach that focuses on the child and connects their development with nature and the people around them. This learning will stay with the children through life, making them and the parents appreciate the need to connect with nature, the basis of our whole existence. Designed for teaching and learning in English ,the programme lays emphasis on the understanding of "Why" and "If" and connect it to instructions and expressions.

Curriculum content

Our approach The programme builds on these key principles:

"All children do best in an environment where they're supported, encouraged and enjoyed."

"Attention is the rarest and the purest form of generosity."

In our Early Years Programme children are valued as unique individuals and where their needs for attention, approval and affection are supported. Here, children are helped to acquire a strong foundation in the knowledge and skills needed for school and life success. The 3A's of early childhood i.e Attention, Approval, and Affection are the powerful tools which we have adapted to teach the youngest learners of our school. They are not only valuable tools, their use is essential in the care of children.

Attention

We pay attention to their needs to express & explore the spaces and materials, it results in increased confidence. It enables them to trust and communicate efficiently. When children are given attention to appropriate behaviours, it communicates genuine approval of the child & develops their social- emotional skills.

Approval

Approval from others teaches us to approve of ourselves To children, approval says they have done something right, and it helps them feel worthwhile. Approval builds trust and self-confidence, which in turn encourages children to try new things without fear. Appropriate and consistent approval develops trust in the child. Once a sense of trust is developed, children can readily approve of themselves.

Affection

Young children can realize their full potential when they are dealt with affection & care. Hence we interact & engage them with affection. When children are given attention to appropriate behaviours and it communicates genuine approval of the child, affection is a natural outcome.

There is no greater outward expression that can be used than a combination of all 3A's when the child is trying to do what you expect. When we, early childhood educators, combine all three of these, children cannot help but respond positively to us, their world, and themselves.
